The Legislative Assembly of Paraná (ALEP) approved projects in favor of public safety in the state. These are government initiatives that impact the Military Police, the Fire Department and the Socio-Educational System.
A project regulates the exercise of administrative police power by the Military Fire Department and establishes general rules for the implementation of measures to prevent and combat fires and disasters.
Under the project, establishments with low-risk economic activities are exempt from corporate licensing to operate.
Another project creates the Private Socio-Educational Function (FPS) in the Socio-Educational System of Paraná, linked to the Secretariat of Justice and Citizenship. With the new function, the 28 directors of Socio-Educational Centers (Censes) and Semi-Freedom Houses, who currently occupy commissioned positions, will be reorganized.
In addition, the role of assistant director and head of security will be created in the 19 Censes. This change will prevent future managers from appointing employees from outside the socio-educational staff, making the services provided in the units more dynamic, integrated and efficient.
Public security
They were also appreciated, in the session of ALEPPO, the amendments to bill 160/2025, which establishes the basic organization of the Paraná Military Police (PMPR) and sets its number of officers at 23.522. The objective, says the Executive, is to strengthen the hierarchical structure and make the administration more efficient.
Special Chamber
Approved in the second round and without the need for final wording, proposal 205/2025, which establishes a new Criminal Chamber in the Court of Justice of Paraná, specialized in the trial of cases of domestic and family violence, is now awaiting sanction. The proposal aims to address the growing demand for cases in the 2nd Degree of Jurisdiction, in line with the National Judicial Policy to Combat Violence against Women.
