Voting in Puerto Iguazú and other cities will take place from 8 am to 18 pm, in schools and locations predetermined by the Misiones Electoral Court.
The province's approximately one million voters will vote to elect 20 of the 40 deputies to the House of Representatives, equivalent to the Legislative Assembly.
In addition, the 45,4 voters of Puerto Iguazú will choose three councilors to renew half of the seats on the Deliberative Council.
According to current legislation in Argentina, the sale of alcoholic beverages will be prohibited between 20pm on Saturday and 21pm on Sunday.
Anyone passing through Puerto Iguazú should pay attention to the prohibition of events and meetings, the distribution of campaign material and the carrying of weapons.
“The restrictions seek to ensure the normal development of the elections and avoid external influences on the electoral process,” reports the Electoral Court of Misiones.
On Sunday, there will be free public transportation throughout the province of Misiones, with the use of electronic tickets. The free transportation, determined by the provincial government, aims to facilitate voters' access to polling stations.
Nationally, the 2025 legislative elections in Argentina are scheduled for October. However, provinces such as Misiones have decided to bring forward voting for local positions, as has been done in previous years.
