What if the customs offices on the tri-national border were moved back to the territories of Ciudad del Este, Foz do Iguaçu and Puerto Iguaçu? In practice, this would create an area for border transit for residents of the Three Borders and tourists.

The person who verbalized this measure was none other than the all-powerful Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich.. That's what the exclusive H2FOZ.

His speech was surprising when he addressed the possibility of moving the inspection post to an area further inland from Puerto Iguazú. It's true that the explanation was made at an electoral event. But it was said.

For him, the bureaucracy of the three countries makes no sense. “Historically, this region has been integrated into the flows of culture and trade. The benefits? Kossar believes that the flow of tourism would increase, with investments in commerce, hotels, gastronomy and other segments. For him, who analyzes and studies the reality of the border, competition would also facilitate the equalization of prices.

“And the region will certainly become a so-called free trade region,” he argues. “Inspection will be more effective, as the control forces will be more integrated. And outside the region, customs will have stricter controls,” says Kossar.

The removal of customs would be great for the population of the three cities involved, but we know that some “interests” prevent this movement.

  2. Rita

I totally support this idea, there's no reason to continue like this

  3. Edith

If this comes to fruition, it would be great for our triple border, I'm all for it.
