The inaugurated section encompasses the Vila Portes region and surrounding areas, going from Avenida Carlos Gomes to Avenida Duque de Caxias. In addition to asphalt, the package includes a bike path, walking track and facilities such as a gym and a pet park.

The JK blocks between Carlos Gomes and the connection with Tancredo Neves remain under construction. A new drainage network will be installed there, as flooding is common.
The work on JK Avenue is being carried out in partnership between the City of Foz do Iguaçu and Itaipu Binacional, which provided funding. The binational company is investing R$23,7 million. The project was developed by the city government.

At the inaugural ceremony this Thursday, the city government and Itaipu named the cycle path after Acir Amilto do Prado, a dentist and businessman in the education sector.
Fabio Prado, Acir's son, represented his father in the tribute. Prado will be responsible for the maintenance of one of the sections of the cycle path and the leisure facilities between Avenida José Maria de Brito and Rua Manoel Bandeira.

In addition, the section close to the Panorama store will be looked after by businessman Paulo Pulcinelli Filho, through the Adopt a Square program.
JK Avenue as a development axis
Chico Brasileiro, mayor of Foz do Iguaçu, thanked Itaipu for the partnership and classified the importance of the work as historic, because it meets the population's desire.
“Avenida JK is one of the main avenues for tourism and urban mobility in Foz, concentrating the flow to Itaipu and Paraguay. For this reason, it needed a major revitalization”, he stated.
Iggor Gomes Rocha, administrative director, represented Itaipu. “This is a long-standing demand from the city government, which impacts drainage and the quality of the city’s piped water. Therefore, it results in a better quality of life for residents,” he said.

Once all sections of the JK are completed, residents of Foz do Iguaçu will have access to a 100% renovated corridor between the center and the Itaipu power plant (via Avenida Tancredo Neves).

For the Centro-Itaipu stretch to be 100% renovated, the pedestrian/cyclist stretch, on the right side (Centro-Itaipu) of Av. Tancredo Neves, should also be renovated, but as there is barely any public sidewalk on this side of the road, not even 75% of this corridor has been renovated.
