Avenida Paraná, one of the main roads in Foz do Iguaçu, has new blockages starting this Saturday, the 15th. The interruption is due to asphalt resurfacing works.
This Saturday, the intersection of Paraná and Avenida José Maria de Brito will be partially closed. Teams from Foztrans and the Municipal Guard will guide drivers, the city government reported.
Starting Monday, the 17th, the blockage will be in place on the stretch between Costa e Silva and Rosa Cirilo de Castro avenues, heading towards Vila A. The intervention will take place from 8 am to 17 pm.
“Throughout the week, there will be changes in traffic, including periods of total road closures,” the company announced. Municipal News Agency (AMN).
Blockades on Paraná Avenue
During the closures, the flow of vehicles to Vila A will be diverted to the opposite lane. And traffic going from the center should follow Avenida JK, with access via Avenida Duque de Caxias.
“As the work progresses, traffic may operate in half a lane, at the discretion of the Special Traffic Operation teams,” explained the municipal administration. Drivers will be given guidance at the locations, according to the city government.
Bus routes
During the total closure of Avenida Paraná, buses will have their routes changed, as follows:
- lines 50, Vila A via Paraná and 65/Universitário, towards the center: diverted via Rosa Cirilo de Castro, Pedro Basso and Costa e Silva avenues, returning to the normal route on Avenida República Argentina; and
- other lines that depart from the North Region to the center: diverted via Duque de Caxias and JK avenues.
“Passengers who need to disembark at the Avenida República Argentina stops must remain on the bus when passing through TTU, to continue their journey towards the neighborhood,” explained the AMN.
