Avenida República Argentina is beginning to receive asphalt resurfacing. The services include removing the old pavement and applying a new covering, according to the city government.
The road is one of the city's main roads, connecting several neighborhoods, the city center and the rural area of the municipality. Along its length, it has a thriving commercial and service segment, squares and other public facilities.
The conservation and revitalization of Avenida República Argentina is a long-standing and constant complaint from residents and merchants. The administration reported that the work will “improve traffic conditions and ensure greater durability of the infrastructure.”

The removal of old asphalt is intended to replace it with a higher quality pavement. This material is designed to withstand heavy traffic and weather conditions, the city says.
The service covers:
- milling of old asphalt;
- repairs to the runway base; and
- application of a new layer of paving, with materials that provide greater resistance.
“The intervention has a direct impact on urban mobility, contributing to safer and more fluid traffic”, points out the Municipal News Agency.
During the works, drivers and pedestrians are advised to pay extra attention to the section of road where services are being carried out. They are also advised to follow the signs on the road.
