The Mechanical Engineering course at Unioeste was the only one among those evaluated in Foz do Iguaçu to achieve the maximum score (5) in the National Student Performance Exam (Enade) 2023. The evaluation is mandatory for students completing their final year of undergraduate studies and serves as one of the main indicators of the quality of higher education in the country.

The Enade scale goes from 1 to 5: grades 1 and 2 are considered unsatisfactory; 3, average; and 4 and 5, satisfactory. Another nine courses achieved grade 4, two of which were from the university itself. uniwest (Electrical Engineering and Nursing). Within this same concept there are still four courses from UniAmerica (Veterinary Medicine, Agronomy, Nutrition and Physiotherapy) and three from the University Center UDC (Pharmacy, Civil Engineering and Agronomy).
In addition, 23 courses in Foz received an index of 3, including the four evaluated at the Federal University of Latin American Integration (Unila). Another nine obtained a grade 2, the five evaluated being from the Higher Education Institute of Foz do Iguaçu (IESFI)/Cesufoz.

National performance
Another survey conducted by Inep measured the General Course Index (IGC), an indicator that assesses the quality of higher education institutions in Brazil. Regarding institutions in Foz do Iguaçu, or that have campuses in the city, Unioeste received the best rating (5). Next came Unila (4) and Uniamérica (4), as well as UDC (3) and Iesfi/Cesufoz (3). Finally, Unifoz received a rating of 2.
