“I feel like there should be more races for people my age,” says Isa Vitória. The runner is 13 years old and says she can only compete in the Women’s Race, in Foz, because it is the only one that allows teenagers to participate. Most of the time, she has to travel to other cities, or even to Paraguay, to be able to run.
Isa also complains about the lack of safe spaces to practice. There is a running track in Vila A and another on Avenida Paraná, but they are very far from where she lives, so she has to train on the street. “I would like more running tracks, near my house and in other places too, so that other people can do what I do,” she concludes.
The testimony is part of the Special Edition of the 110 years of Foz do Iguaçu. There is exclusive content until June 30, such as interviews, special articles, photo essays and videos.
Each response was recorded at different points in the municipality, with people of different identities. This shows the plurality and common interest of the residents.
I am an ultra marathon runner and I completely agree with Isa Vitória, if we increasingly encourage sport, young people will become more prone to bad practices.

Congratulations Isa! Sport and education go hand in hand and lead you to a better future!!!
Congratulations Isa!
More space to play sports.
Very well said. Isa is a warrior, a unique athlete, just like her father, Ultra Robson Douglas. Sports save lives, change stories. Investing in sports and conditions for children and young people to practice them is investing in the future of our society.
I, Luciano Prado, world champion ultramarathon runner, etc., agree with the champion girl Isa, as there should be a law where all street races have access to children and teenagers to also participate in street and track competitions.
