The Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (RFB) has launched a new feature: an interactive dashboard with a ranking of contraband in the country. The online tool aims to provide transparency to combat and seizure actions, the agency emphasizes.
The survey is based on tax representations for criminal purposes resulting from repression and inspection actions carried out over three years. It therefore covers 2023, 2024 and 2025.
“This unprecedented initiative aims to increase transparency in activities to combat smuggling and tax evasion,” emphasizes the RFB. It also offers citizens a broad and up-to-date view of how these crimes are being tackled.
The dashboard gathers detailed data by:
- condition;
- type of infraction;
- economic sector;
- estimated value of losses caused to public coffers.

Among the states, Paraná leads, unsurprisingly, however with the impressive figure of R$ 1.189.939.205, 17 in seizures. Overall, the product most confiscated is cigarettes, followed by telephones, electronics, computer items and beverages.
The border between the tri-national region of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay is considered one of the main gateways for the entry of illegal goods. Inspection and public security agencies monitor the border, in addition to carrying out prevention and repression operations.
