“Foz is not a border city, but rather a city of integration”, highlights leader in formal inauguration ceremony; festive event will be held in July.
Businessman Danilo Vendruscolo was sworn in on Monday, the 25th, as president of ACIFI (Commercial and Business Association of Foz do Iguaçu). The leader heads the “Integration” ticket, which has Rodiney José Alamini as president of the Superior Council.
The businessmen are leading the entity's 29th management, replacing, respectively, Faisal Ismail (board of directors) and Walter Venson (Superior Council), who concluded their 25–2020 term on Monday (2022). Ismail and Venson remain on the Superior Council.
The four directors highlighted that the more than 1,6 members reflect the strength of ACIFI's representation in all sectors of society, the result of the work of different presidents and their respective boards and councils over seven decades of history. From the first president, Pedro Basso, to today, there have been 28 administrations.
Defending members, Vendruscolo said, comes first because representing the interests of members means defending Foz do Iguaçu and the trinational region. “Now we are committed to improving even further, united and listening to all members and businesses in general, from the smallest to the largest, from the city center and the neighborhoods”, stressed.
The president of ACIFI was emphatic in saying that “Foz is not a border city, but rather a city of integration between countless cultures. An integration between Brazil and Paraguay, united by Itaipu Binacional; an integration between Brazil and Argentina, united by the Iguaçu Falls”, exemplified.
President of the Superior Council of ACIFI, Rodiney Alamini stressed that the collegiate management, composed of 80 directors, will provide support to achieve new achievements, starting with the implementation of the Innovation Center, holding the International Forum on Sustainable Multimodal Logistics and promoting a workshop in partnership with Sebrae to better identify the current demands of companies.
The formal act took place during the Ordinary General Meeting to assess and approve the balance sheet and the examination of the 2021 financial statements. The festive inauguration event will be held in July, in a grand celebration of associations in favor of local and regional development.
Collegiate management strengthens business representation
Upon concluding his two-term term at the organization (2018–2020 and 2020–2022), Faisal Ismail reinforced everyone's commitment to associations and entrepreneurship. For him, bringing people together around a common purpose strengthens business representation.
“We generate business and strengthen the economy by creating 25 formal jobs and collecting more than R$7 billion for public coffers. This is the weight of the entrepreneurs associated with ACIFI, who have a huge responsibility for local and regional socioeconomic development.”, declared the leader.
Walter Venson, who was also president of the Board of Directors for the last two terms, recalled that everyone at ACIFI strives for excellence in representing the different interests of its members. The dean mentioned that this representation has guided the dialogue with the government and partnerships with institutions (such as Itaipu Binacional) in recent years.
“In all my travels, this is where I learned the most. We dedicated time and intelligence to finding solutions, facing the pandemic and other adversities. This was possible because the entity is based on collegial management [board of directors and Board of Directors]. All decisions are discussed and shared, always with great respect,” he concluded.
