At the time, the wind ripped off the roofs of blocks B, D and E, which house laboratories and classrooms, as well as the administrative building and the walkways that connect the blocks.

Itaipu and Unioeste signed an agreement to renovate the spaces, with the binational company allocating R$1,3 million for the improvements.

The work, according to Itaipu, included new roofing, replacement of frames and electrical parts (including changing light fixtures) and painting.

The administrative building received maintenance on its roof with ceramic tiles, painting and revitalization of the floors, while the walkways had their tiles replaced and were painted.

“Thanks to this partnership, it was possible not only to recover the affected areas, but also to promote significant improvements in the classrooms and the administrative building,” celebrated Sérgio Fabriz, director of Unioeste in Foz, quoted by Itaipu’s press office.

In Block B, there are the Technical Advisory, the Special Education Program, the Law Coordination and the Accounting Sciences Computer Laboratory.

Block D is home to the Hotel Management and Tourism courses, while Block E hosts the Nursing, Literature and Accounting courses.

According to the binational, the investment is part of the Itaipu Mais que Energia program. The initiative coordinates actions in the 399 municipalities of Paraná and 35 of Mato Grosso do Sul, aligned with the federal government.
