At around 15:30 pm this Sunday (18), Foz do Iguaçu was covered by a cloud of dust, caused by strong winds coming from Paraguay. The phenomenon worried residents of several neighborhoods and fans who were at the ABC Stadium.

After a series of days of dry weather, gusts moved large amounts of earth and darkened the horizon on the border. The winds traveled from southwest to northeast across Foz do Iguaçu, from Porto Meira and riverside areas to Morumbi and Três Lagoas.

Shortly after the dust storm, torrential rain hit part of the urban perimeter, with water accumulating in traditional flooding points.
From the first gusts of wind to the last drops of rain, however, the bad weather in Foz do Iguaçu lasted little more than an hour. There are no reports of assistance provided by the Civil Defense at the time of publication of this news.

Weather in Foz do Iguaçu
According to Simepar, the Paraná meteorological service, Monday (19) will have stable weather in Foz do Iguaçu, with predominantly sunny weather. Temperatures will fluctuate between 17°C and 26°C.
For Tuesday (20), there is a chance of rain showers (1.5mm), as well as on Wednesday (21) and Thursday (22). For Wednesday, the bulletin projects an accumulation of 8.9mm, while another 7.6mm is forecast for Thursday.

From Friday (23) onwards, Simepar predicts blue skies and temperatures between 19°C and 27°C in Foz do Iguaçu. To check the agency's forecast in full, click here.
Flow at Iguazu Falls
At 9 am this Monday, the water flow at the Iguaçu Falls was 468 cubic meters per second (m³/s). This value represents less than a third of the standard reference of 1.500 m³/s.

According to the Paraná Energy Company (Copel), the Iguaçu River tends to remain with low flow in Foz do Iguaçu for the next 36 hours.
At Porto Capanema Station, located upstream, the flow has remained below 400 m³/s since Sunday night. There is no indication of recovery, at least for now.
