Multivaccination D-Day
The Government of Paraná is holding the State Multivaccination D-Day this Saturday (10), from 8 am to 17 pm, with the goal of administering 300 thousand doses of vaccines, including flu, Covid-19, yellow fever and measles. The action involves more than 10 thousand health professionals and has the support of Cosems and the Ministry of Health. The dengue vaccine will also be available for children and adolescents aged 10 to 14 in 217 municipalities.

Mother's Day
Mother's Day is expected to boost retail activity in Paraná, with 66,6% of consumers planning to buy gifts, according to a survey by Fecomércio PR and Sebrae/PR. The date is the second most important for retail, behind only Christmas. Among the mothers interviewed, 92,1% expect to receive gifts this May.  
Minister from Paraná
Social worker Márcia Lopes, from Londrina (PR), is the new Minister of Women in the Lula government. She was sworn in this Monday (5), in a ceremony at the Planalto Palace. Former Minister of Social Development in 2010, Márcia graduated from UEL, where she was also a teacher, and has a master's degree from PUC-SP.

Travel Paraná
Registration for entrepreneurs to participate as co-exhibitors at the Viaje Paraná booth at the Fiexpo (Costa Rica) and EBS (São Paulo) fairs has been extended until May 7. The action aims to increase the time for those interested in the MICE sector, which encompasses business and events. More than 20 entrepreneurs have already applied for the two fairs.

Travel Paraná II
Fiexpo Latin America and EBS are strategic opportunities for tourism and event entrepreneurs. The events bring together international buyers and promote thousands of business meetings. Viaje Paraná seeks to increase the state's visibility in the MICE market.

No Discount
Following the Federal Police's Operation No Discount, which identified R$6 billion in illegal charges at the INSS, Procon-PR is warning retirees and pensioners to check their benefit statements. The recommendation is that they cancel, through the Meu INSS app, discounts from unrecognized associations or unions.

Selection
The Ponta Grossa State University (UEPG) has opened applications for a selection process to hire temporary professors. There are 33 immediate vacancies and a reserve list for several courses. Applications are open until May 15, on the UEPG website.

More Jobs
More than 300 cities in Paraná recorded a positive balance in the generation of formal jobs between January and March. 46.516 new jobs with formal employment contracts were created in the period. The result represents a growth of 33,9% compared to the same quarter in 2023. Curitiba, Maringá, Cascavel and Londrina led the ranking. The data is from Caged, released by the Ministry of Labor.

Yellow May
Yellow May 2025 in Paraná focuses on reducing accidents with the theme “Peace on the road starts with you”. The campaign promotes educational activities and reinforces monitoring on highways. The state advocates reviewing speed limits on urban roads and state highways. Curitiba is already studying the measure for the second half of the year. Technicians point out that the impact could be positive in reducing deaths.

Active debt
Paraná recovered R$995 million in outstanding debt in 2024, the highest amount in history. The amount represents a 31% increase compared to 2023. 434 thousand debts were paid off by 163 thousand taxpayers. The use of artificial intelligence expedited debt collection. The State Attorney General's Office coordinated the initiative.
 
Leadership
Congressman Ricardo Barros (PP) stated that the Progressive Union federation will be a protagonist in the 2026 state succession. According to him, the base is united and has names ready to compete. Barros highlighted his experience and national articulation.

Insurance
Carrier Insurance claims in Paraná totaled R$154,4 million in the 12 months to February 2025, an increase of 31,2%, according to CNseg. The insurance covers damage to cargo during transportation. Paraná is the 4th state with the most cargo thefts, according to data from SINESP.
