Value Executive
Daniel Slaviero, CEO of Copel, was awarded in the Energy category of the “Executivo de Valor” award from the newspaper Valor Econômico. In charge since 2019, he led the sale of the telecom area and the capitalization of the company in 2023. He highlights dialogue and listening as pillars of his management. The award reached its 25th edition.
Winter 2025
Winter begins next Friday (20), at 23:42 pm, with above-average temperatures expected in much of the country. The main temperature deviations are expected to occur in Paraná, Southeast and Central-West.
Economic growth
Paraná recorded economic growth of 5% in the first quarter of 2025, reaching R$210,9 billion, surpassing the national average of 2,8% and even the United States, which had an increase of 2,1%. The data consider the state's GDP, based on information from IBGE and Ipardes.
Public resources
Itaipu has partnered with Crea-PR and UEPG to help small municipalities in Paraná develop infrastructure projects and access public resources. The Mais Engenharia Program will offer 100 scholarships, 50 of which will be for engineering specializations and half will be for women. Applications are open until July 13 on the Crea-PR website.
Costs
The government of Paraná proposed to the Legislative Assembly the creation of a “fee for acts of investigation”, which requires those convicted in court to pay for the costs of the investigations that led to the sentence. The measure applies to cases with a final judgment or non-prosecution agreement.
Specific knowledge
UEL announced that 12 courses will have a Specific Knowledge Test on the second day of the 2026 Entrance Exam, including Medicine, Law and Psychology. The test will be discursive, with nine questions and will last three hours. The other courses will only have the test on the first day. Registration opens on July 1st.
Financial breathing space
The Legislative Assembly of Paraná hosted a seminar this week on PEC 66/2023, which proposes to alleviate municipal debts by limiting spending on court-ordered payments, changing the index to the IPCA and extending the pension reform to municipalities. Mayors highlighted that the measure will provide financial breathing space and help maintain essential public services.

Lar Cooperativa hosted representatives from the Government of Paraná for a strategic meeting in Medianeira, focused on strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors. The meeting discussed infrastructure, logistics, energy and agility in environmental processes to boost regional development.
Strategies
During the meeting, the Harvest Plan, credit lines with reduced interest rates and Lar's 2025-2030 strategic plan were discussed. The cooperative also presented demands for the improvement of 120 km of roads in 12 municipalities, aiming to optimize the flow of production and ensure greater safety on the highways.
Holiday
The Curitiba Bus Station estimates 22 departures during the Corpus Christi holiday, an increase of 22% compared to 2024. The main destinations are the interior of Paraná, Santa Catarina and São Paulo. There will be increased service with more traffic agents and Municipal Guard personnel.
Accountability
Political parties have until June 30 to submit their financial statements for 2024 to the Electoral Court, via the SPCA. Municipal directories with no activity must submit a formal declaration. Failure to do so may result in sanctions such as suspension of the Party Fund.
