Cold in Paraná
A polar air mass is expected to intensify the cold in Paraná from Tuesday (29), with minimum temperatures expected to reach 6 °C in the central-southern region. According to Simepar, General Carneiro will be one of the municipalities most affected by the drop in temperature. The phenomenon marks the advance of autumn with typical winter characteristics.

Senate
With the decision of Oriovisto Guimarães (PSDB) and Flávio Arns (PSB) not to seek reelection, two seats in the Paraná Senate are open, generating a dispute between “institutional” candidates and an outsider. Interestingly, the name of Álvaro Dias (Podemos), who had a large number of votes in the last elections, was excluded from the polls. If Governor Ratinho Junior (PSD) opts for the Senate instead of the Presidency, he will guarantee one seat, leaving the other for candidates such as Felipe Barros (PL), Cristina Graeml (Podemos) and, perhaps, Álvaro Dias.

Cultural Café
The Electoral Judicial School will hold the 28th Cultural Café on Monday (16), at 30 pm. The theme of this edition will be “Digital Constitutionalism”. The Cultural Café, which will be led by Dr. João Victor Archegas, will take place at Rua: João Parolin, 224, and will also be broadcast live on the TRE-PR YouTube channel.

Inspection
In May, the National Council of Justice will conduct another inspection at the Court of Justice of Paraná, assessing administrative and judicial sectors, as well as notary offices and courts in nine cities in the metropolitan region and 17 in downtown Curitiba. The inspection will take place from May 19 to 23, focusing on the productivity of judges and the processing time of cases.

Fusion
The PSDB and Podemos are expected to announce the merger between the two parties next Tuesday, the 29th. The new party will be headed by Renata Abreu (Podemos) for the first two years, followed by Marconi Perillo (PSDB). The alliance, which may also include Solidariedade, will form a bench of 33 deputies, seven senators and three governors, with leadership alternating between the parties. Deputy Beto Richa (PSD) is the most likely candidate to head the new party in Paraná.

Mabel in PP
The PP announced the affiliation of state deputy Mabel Canto, elected by the PSDB, who will sign her party membership next Monday (28). Mabel, leader of the women's caucus in the Legislative Assembly and a leader in the areas of women's rights, regional development and transparency, reinforces the party's team, which is already the second largest political force in Paraná. The affiliation will be held at the PP headquarters in Curitiba with the presence of state and national leaders. With Mabel's arrival, the PP's state caucus now has seven parliamentarians in Alep.

Codesul
Deputy Governor Darci Piana (PSD) represented Paraná at the Codesul meeting in Brasília, which also includes Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul and Mato Grosso do Sul. During the meeting, the “Regional Vision 2040” plan was presented and a memorandum was signed with the World Bank to create an integrated climate monitoring and risk management system. The plan defines coordinated actions in areas such as the environment, education and security, aiming at regional development and response to climate emergencies.

Paving
Paraná has already paved 1,6 km of rural roads since 2019, with R$1,5 billion in investments. The Estradas da Integração program is responsible for 1.350 km of this total, benefiting 100 families and boosting the local economy. New stretches, such as in Pinhalão and Ibiporã, have improved agricultural flow and attracted companies. The goal now is to pave another 1 km with an investment of R$2 billion.

Seniors
Curitiba hosted the 2nd Decentralized Meeting of the National Council for the Rights of the Elderly. The meeting brought together representatives from all over the country to discuss public policies and prepare for the state and national conferences. Curitiba joined the Cuida Mais Paraná program, focused on active aging. The capital has 320 elderly people and is part of the Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities.

Tech
Through the Projetek program, state universities have developed 87 public works projects for 59 cities, saving R$8,8 million. The program offers technical services in several areas, such as health and education, using the BIM methodology to optimize resources and qualify students. The projects range from school renovations to drainage and accessibility systems, benefiting local communities and promoting regional development.

Money laundry
Gaeco served nine search and seizure warrants and 22 precautionary measures in Operation Proteus, which is investigating the leadership of Cativa (Cooperativa Agroindustrial de Londrina) for embezzlement, ideological falsehood and money laundering. The investigations indicate that those involved diverted more than R$18 million from the sale of part of Confepar Agro-Industrial to Lactalis, using fictitious companies to justify the diversion. The operation also identified acquisitions of real estate and luxury vehicles by those investigated, and the Judiciary ordered the seizure of R$20 million, in addition to precautionary measures such as electronic monitoring and suspension of activities at the cooperative.
