Record
The investment from Paraná’s own resources for 2025 will be the largest in the last 10 years. The more than R$6,3 billion foreseen in the state budget means a more than significant increase in works and improvements in several cities in Paraná over the next few months. “The state did its homework, got its accounts up to date and now has a comfortable situation in terms of revenue and fiscal organization that allows it to invest more”, said Secretary Norberto Ortigara (Finance).

Model
The Metropolitan Affairs Agency of Paraná presented the architectural concept for the Londrina Metropolitan Terminal. The structure, which will have 15 bus platforms and five other waiting areas, will have administrative and leisure spaces on a 12 square meter plot of land in front of the Central Urban Terminal. Work will now focus on the structural, hydraulic and electrical projects, with completion scheduled for May. “We expect to be able to hold a bidding process for the project by the end of the first half of the year,” said Amep president Gilson Santos.

Paraná is receiving R$16 million from the federal government for the UFPR campus in Pontal do Paraná – Center for Marine Studies and another R$2 million for IFPR Paranaguá, says deputy Gleisi Hoffmann (PT) who highlights that the federal universities of Paraná will have R$877 million in 2025.

Against Marijuana
The 38 city council members of Curitiba have already submitted 80 bills this year. Among them is one by city council member Bruno Secco (PMB) that prohibits the Marijuana March and other “events, meetings, or similar practices that promote the use of illicit drugs that cause physical and/or psychological dependence.” Eder Borges (PL) intends to fine R$1 anyone caught using illicit drugs in public areas and places (such as avenues, streets, sidewalks, and parks). The fine may be doubled if the offense is committed in certain establishments (such as schools or hospitals, parks, or squares).

Suspension
The TCE suspended the bidding process of the city of Almirante Tamandaré for the concession, execution of works and provision of services for the expansion, operation and maintenance of the public lighting network of the city in the metropolitan region of Curitiba. Councilor Durval Amaral granted a request by Brasiluz Eletrificação e Eletrônica, which pointed out an error in defining the total estimated value of the contract at R$64.037.851,64. According to the company, this should be R$161.973.126,00, taking into account the monthly value of R$40,45 per lighting point and a park of 11.123 points, as well as a concession period of 30 years, as defined in the bidding notice itself.

Health in SJP
Secretary Beto Preto (Health) and Mayor Nina Singer (PSD) inspected the construction of the Medical Specialties Outpatient Clinic (AME) and the New Municipal Hospital in São José dos Pinhais. Both projects cost R$192 million. The hospital project has a total investment of R$169 million – R$60 million from the State and R$109 million from the city government – ​​and is one of the highlights in health infrastructure in the RMC. The unit, with 22.173 square meters, will be equipped with 300 beds, adult and neonatal ICUs, surgical maternity, palliative care and specialties such as neurology and psychiatry. Its execution is currently at approximately 8%.

Priority
“Health is a priority for the Ratinho Junior administration. Investing in expanding hospitals and creating new units shows our commitment to providing quality care to all regions of the state. With the new hospital, the hospitalization capacity will be increased by 36% and the number of surgeries by 50%, also strengthening emergency care in the region,” said Beto Preto.

More events
Directors of Viaje Paraná and Mayor Eduardo Pimentel (PSD) intend to attract major events and expand Curitiba's presence in the foreign market. In total, Paraná received more than 894 foreign tourists last year, making it the third largest gateway for international travelers to the country. Along with Foz do Iguaçu, the capital was one of the main destinations for this audience. Viaje Paraná has also met with the City Hall of Foz do Iguaçu with a focus on the same type of alignment.

Coritiba announced the renewal of its master sponsorship with Reals Bet until the end of 2025. The new agreement includes benefits and actions for the club's members and fans. The partnership, which began in early 2024, is considered the largest in the club's history. Financial details were not officially disclosed. One dose
The State Health Department has received a new shipment of vaccines against Covid-19. There are 60 thousand doses of Pfizer Baby, intended for babies from six months to four years, 11 months and 29 days, and 50 thousand doses of the Zalika vaccine for the population over 12 years old, totaling 110 thousand doses. The distribution of the new batch to all Health Regions began this Thursday (16).

In Paraná, the current monovalent vaccination coverage for three doses is 57,65%, and 87,97% for two doses. As of January 13, 01 doses of the monovalent COVID-29.988.352 vaccine had been administered. In absolute numbers, the state is in 19th place in the country. Ahead are the states of São Paulo (5), Minas Gerais (131.547.434), Rio de Janeiro (53.313.046) and Bahia (42.412.027).

No monitoring
In light of the wave of fake news surrounding the modernization of Pix monitoring, the Federal Revenue Service revoked the normative act that extended the monitoring of transactions to digital banks, fintechs and payment institutions. In its place, the government will issue a provisional measure to prohibit differentiated charges for Pix and cash transactions. Minister Fernando Haddad (Finance) and the Secretary of the Federal Revenue Service, Robinson Barreirinhas, recently announced the revocation of the normative instruction and the issuance of the provisional measure.
