Development
Secretary Márcio Nunes (Agriculture) was at Ocepar and highlighted the importance of cooperatives for the development of Paraná. “Cooperatives organize the rural environment and Paraná is now becoming the world’s supermarket. And if we are the world’s supermarket, the place that produces the most per square meter in the world, you can be sure that cooperatives have been very important,” said Nunes in the meeting with Ocepar president José Roberto Ricken.
Challenge
Despite positive indicators such as record income, low unemployment and increased credit, the Brazilian economy faces challenges in maintaining its growth rate (3,4% last year). The team of Minister Fernando Haddad (Finance) estimates that GDP will grow 2,3% this year, the Central Bank projects 1,9% and the Focus bulletin points to 2%. However, these projections still do not incorporate the effect of the tariff hikes imposed by Donald Trump's administration, which have a strong impact on trade transactions worldwide.
