Prof. José Afonso de Oliveira – OPINION
The largest Atlantic Forest reserve in the Southern Region of Brazil is the basis for the formation and preservation of the Iguaçu National Park. It is rich in biodiversity and should be used for conducting studies, which are essential. A more in-depth knowledge of all this wealth is needed so that we can produce cosmetic or herbal products that are duly authorized for human use.

Border region with Argentina, where we also have a forest reserve area in which we can therefore carry out joint studies and possible uses of products to meet people's needs.

We understand, however, that the population of Foz do Iguaçu can have many more benefits, such as the creation of a research center organized by Unila, which, being a Latin American federal university, can indeed provide relevant services to serve various types of public, from students to tourists who visit the park.

Imagine the feeling of someone who is physically distant, but has contact with all this beauty and wealth that draws so much attention, especially at this time when environmental issues are on the rise.
As a result of this fact, congresses, forums and other activities could be held that would streamline all this knowledge, encouraging technical-scientific tourism.
This is thinking about the future for Foz do Iguaçu, based on the current reality in which we are living.
