“Foz went on a binge”. It was the headline of the Our Time Newspaper in 1981, to invite you to read the complete coverage of the carnival in the city's clubs, which were traditional at the time.

Issue number 13 had seven heavily illustrated pages. It featured the best moments of Carnival in Iguaçu clubs, such as Oeste Paraná Clube, Country Clube, Whiskadão, Gresfi and Floresta..
The news coverage challenged any modesty or false moralism, as the liberality that the meat festival period brings demands. “Samba, sweat, lots of headbanging, the people celebrating. Great!”, the newspaper announced.
If that doesn't seem like much, the report featured irreverence in the form of a cartoon, art by Heitor. And it concluded with what the outlet called the "best of the party", which were snapshots and details "after some Iances and Ianças" - the pun is from Nosso Tempo, it's worth reinforcing in times of loose hypocrisy.

Samba gave no respite to the revelers who chose the Oeste Paraná Clube, in the city center, to celebrate the 1981 carnival. “So many bodies! So much light! So many smiles, joy and the rhythm of freedom to the rhythm of samba”, published the newspaper.
Country
Beauties, beauties and cuteness of the city, exposed the chronicle page about the Iguaçu carnival at the Country Club, on Avenida Paraná. “How much better would life be if every day were always more carnivalesque!?”, he proposed.
Whiskadão
At the club that marked generations of Iguaçu residents, on Avenida Almirante Barroso, in the city center, the 1981 carnival was about “loving and kissing,” with dance floors that covered all rhythms, the report emphasized. “People, lots of people sweating in the intense Iguaçu heat, with the temperature both inside and outside people.”

Gresfi
The club on Avenida JK, near Vila Paraguai, kicked off the festivities with a Momo party that year. The festivities were accompanied by an orchestra, samba and marches. “The revelers danced until the early hours of the morning, demonstrating that Carnival is a celebration for the people,” reported the newspaper.

In Vila A, Floresta Clube brought together different people, promoting integration and joy, and highlighted the Our Time. “Very lively blocks, costumes and well-designed clothes” marked the revelers.
