According to the organizers, this year, Pint of Science will reflect on planet Earth, remembering the photo taken by the Voyager 1 probe in 1990, six billion kilometers away.
The image shows humanity's home as a "pale blue dot" amid the vastness of the Universe, reinforcing the need to protect our planetary home.
Among those confirmed to attend Pint of Science in Foz, historian Tupá Guerra and biologist Hugo Fernandes stand out.
From Brasília, Tupá has a PhD in History and will lead the chat “Uncovering the Dead Sea Scrolls”. The historian gained popularity on the internet in podcast like Garage Dragons and Freak World.
Hugo Fernandes, from Fortaleza, has a PhD in Zoology and writes for media outlets such as the newspaper Folha de São Paulo and Magazine Piauí. In the chat “Is there a way to fix the world?”, Fernandes will address the issue of climate change.
Pint of Science Foz will also focus on local researchers, such as Paola Stefanutti, who will talk about the flavors of the border, and Jorgelina Tallei, who will lead a conversation about our everyday Portunhol.
