The 25 hospital beds announced by the state government to treat patients from Foz do Iguaçu who have Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SRAG) are already operating at the Madre de Dio Hospital, in São Miguel do Iguaçu, 45 kilometers from the city.

The situation is complicated mainly due to the number of sick children. Of this total number of beds, 10 are in the pediatric ICU and 15 are in nursing. In Foz, hospitals are operating at their limit.
