The Nossa Senhora Aparecida Polyclinic, in the Porto Meira region, should double the number of beds and expand services, with investments in the order of R$ 6,5 million, according to the prefecture. The new structure is the result of a partnership between the municipality and the state administration.
The figures released by the city government indicate that the total number of beds will increase from 24 to 51, and the surgical center will be expanded from three to five rooms. The investments include nine new consulting rooms, a cardiology examination room, a new emergency room and an observation and medication room.
The structure also includes a modern dental center for implantology. The reception areas, service flow and rest areas for the teams are also being remodeled, listed the state administration.

The total investment is R$6,5 million, of which R$2 million will be spent on structural works and R$4,5 million on equipment and furniture. The expectation is to increase the number of outpatient surgeries from 700 to up to 1.300 procedures per month.
The number of specialist consultations will increase from 2.100 to 3.600 per month, according to the administration. The unit's annual cost will increase from R$25 million to R$40 million.
“It’s not just a physical reform. It’s a leap in the ability to solve problems and better serve the population. Foz deserves a health system that lives up to its importance,” declared Mayor Silva e Luna.
The unit will offer imaging tests and emergency care in areas such as orthopedics, urology and general medicine. The services are part of Opera Paraná, a program of elective surgeries funded by the SUS with additional costs of up to 150% over the federal table.
