Family and friends of electrician's assistant Gilberto de Almeida, 59, and his son, Alexsandro Leal de Almeida, 29, held a protest at around 18 pm this Thursday, the 17th, at the intersection of Juscelino Kubistchek and Carlos Gomes avenues.
The peaceful demonstration took place precisely on the stretch where father and son died, on March 17 of this year, after a Chevrolet Cobalt hit the back of the victims' motorcycle, who were waiting for the green traffic light to turn towards Vila Portes.
The protest was held to commemorate one month since the accident and to show that the family is paying attention to the handling of the case.
The vehicle was driven by sales manager David André Martens, 36 years old, who was considered a defendant in the case after the Court accepted the complaint filed by the Public Ministry of Paraná (MPPR).
According to the MP's complaint, David had drunk beer in a bar in Vila A on the night of Sunday, March 16, and during the early hours of the 17th in a nightclub located on Avenida Paraná. Camera images prove his presence in the locations.
In Vila A, he consumed eight beers, and the bill came to R$144,20. He remained there between 18:34 pm and 21:13 pm. At the nightclub, images show the accused with at least two buckets of beer.
Alexsandro's girlfriend, Karoline Schoingele, 30, said that only now has the family started to see results in the process, but they are still waiting for the driver to be arrested.
According to her, Gilberto and Alexsandro made the journey every day on their motorcycle, from Morumbi to Vila Portes, always stopping at the traffic lights.
The young man worked at a wholesale store, where he would start at 5 am and finish around 13:40 pm. The young man was diligent, punctual and didn't like to be late. He and his father supported his mother and another brother.

One of the sisters, Juliana de Almeida, 33, said that the family is more relieved now with the progress of the process, however she criticizes the fact that the Court did not authorize David's arrest.
For her, the case began to unfold thanks to the support of the press. “We still had to hear that we were making a mountain out of a molehill,” she reported.
Crimes charged
The driver is charged with the crimes of double homicide with doubly qualified intent (due to common danger and means that hindered the defense of the victims) with eventual intent, drunk driving and fleeing the scene of the crime.
The defendant is also charged with the criminal offence of failing to identify himself to the police authorities.
The MP requested the Court to pre-empt the accused, however the Court denied the request, claiming that David has a fixed address and job and does not have a criminal record, among other issues.
In a note sent to RPC and published on the Meio dia Paraná program, the driver's defense informs that it regrets the accident and expresses deep condolences to the victims' family.
The document also mentions that, despite being serious, the collision is not similar to other serious accidents reported in the media.
The defense will await formal citation from the court to have access to the complaint and demystify any excesses on the part of the prosecution due to the social commotion generated by the fact itself, according to the note.
According to the report, the client remains at the disposal of the courts and his family to assist and collaborate in any way possible.
