A joint action between the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime in Paraná (FICCO/PR) and the Military Police of Santa Catarina, on Wednesday, 14, to serve an arrest warrant against a man wanted by the Justice Department, resulted in a confrontation leaving two dead.
The police were looking for a fugitive from justice for committing robbery and involvement in criminal activities.
During the approach, in São Bento do Sul (SC), the fugitive and another man who helped him escape clashed with the police and died.
Police located the fugitive after monitoring a black Hyundai Elantra with Brazilian plates. The Hyundai left Campo Magro and went to Marmeleiro, both cities in Paraná.
The driver of the vehicle picked up the fugitive in Marmeleiro and headed towards Santa Catarina.
In São Bento do Sul, the military police tried to approach the car, but the driver left through side roads until crashing into the wall of a residence.
Upon encountering the police, the driver and the fugitive pointed guns at the police, who neutralized the threats. After calling for medical assistance, the two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
