The Civil Police in Foz do Iguaçu arrested a man for rape of a vulnerable person, this Wednesday, the 6th, during Operation Hypnosis. The operation received this name because the victim had therapeutic consultations with the accused, who used hypnosis methods.
The preventive arrest warrant was issued by the 3rd Criminal Court of Foz do Iguaçu against the 52-year-old man. To the Specialized Police Station team, the 30-year-old victim reported that during the consultations the accused “began to perform lewd acts while she was hypnotized”, without her being able to offer resistance.
The arrested man had already been investigated by the Child and Adolescent Victims of Crime Protection Unit (Nuceia) in Foz do Iguaçu for similar incidents in which the victim was a teenager. The Women's Police Station represented the suspect's preventive arrest, which was granted by the court.
Investigations continue with the suspect being held at the Laudemir Neves Public Jail in Foz do Iguaçu. Delegate Giovanna Antonucci Brito Oliveira emphasizes the importance of reporting cases involving sexual crimes.
