Between June 25th and 27th, residents of municipalities bordering the Iguaçu National Park will have the opportunity to learn about projects created to strengthen the area surrounding the conservation unit.

The presentations will be given by Adetur Cataratas e Caminhos, a tourism development agency, in partnership with the management of the national park.

On the 25th, the exhibition will take place in Capanema, at the Dona Maurícia Guerra Cultural Center. On the 26th, in Serranópolis do Iguaçu, at the Loreci Teresinha Morás Cultural Center. On the other hand, Foz do Iguaçu will host the presentation of the projects on the 27th, at the UDC Centro.
According to the organizers, in all cities, the events will take place from 14 pm to 16 pm, with participation open to the entire community. However, registration is required (click here to access the form).
The list of initiatives, according to Adetur, includes the following projects:
Surrounding Engagement Plan: collective and collaborative planning between the park and its community focused on tourism.
Community-Based Tourism of Quilombo Apepu: valorization of the territory and quilombola culture.
Iguaçu Fruits Project: mobilization of the production chain of native fruits from the Atlantic Forest in the region.
All projects are part of the Embrace the Park campaign, which aims to strengthen the relationship between the surrounding communities and the conservation unit.
The initiative is supported by the Urbia Cataratas concessionaire and sponsored by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio). Adetur Cataratas e Caminhos is involved in the development and implementation of the planned actions.
