A team formed by Tourism students from the State University of Western Paraná (Unioeste) was the winner of the 13th edition of Hackatour Cataratas, a marathon for the development of technological solutions aimed at the tourism sector.

The result was announced on Sunday (3), during the closing ceremony of the event. The activities, which totaled three days of intense work, took place in a hybrid format, with the in-person part at UniAmérica Descomplica, in Foz do Iguaçu.
Entitled Tourist Experience System for Places and Attractions (STELA), the winning project proposes the creation of a platform to capture customer profiles and offer personalized experiences in a destination.
The idea was developed by students Otávio Batista, Júlia Sobral, Gabriel da Silva and Tainá Bueno, as well as Rodrigo Matias, who joined the team remotely.
The group, in addition to receiving R$5 in cash and a national trip, will have the chance to accelerate the project with the support of Sebrae and Itaipu Parquetec, as well as participate in the Technology and Innovation Hall of the Cataratas Festival, which will take place in June 2025.
In second place was the New Destiny team, made up of Lucas de Oliveira This, Thalia Josieli dos Santos Arevolos and Phelipe Raphael dos Santos. As a prize, they will receive R$3 and a tablets Samsung A7 Lite.
Third place went to the Trip & Tour Connect group, with members Sabrina Taina dos Santos, João Pedro Martins, Ellen Lopes and Débora Czaban. The three teams will also receive invitations to dinner at Rafain Churrascaria Show.
The Cataratas Hackatour is organized by the Institute for the Development of Tourism and Strategic Projects (Idestur) and carried out in partnership with Sebrae Startups, Itaipu Parquetec and Itaipu Binacional.
The initiative is sponsored by the Iguaçu Fund and has strategic support from Summit Tour 5.0, Festival das Cataratas, Grupo Cataratas and Descomplica UniAmérica.
In addition, academic institutions, such as UFPR, Unioeste, Unicentro, IFPR and UTFPR, also collaborate with the event, whose next edition is scheduled for April 2025.
