Explore the flavors, colors and culture of the Three Borders Landmark

Autumn adds new experiences to the attraction that unites Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina; there are four days of holidays to enjoy.

Autumn, the month of April and the long weekend mean new experiences at Marco das Três Fronteiras. The season, which is pure charm, and the days off, from Friday to Monday, the 18th to the 21st, are a call to explore the flavors, colors, nature and culture of this attraction in Foz do Iguaçu, which unites Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.

3 Borders Landmark on the long weekend:

  • 10 hours of operation per day;
  • morning, afternoon and evening tour options;
  • attraction opens at 11am and closes access at 21pm.

The visit begins at the store selling handicrafts and souvenirs from the tri-national region at the entrance. The buildings that refer to the Jesuit-Guarani settlements lead to the square, which brings together locals and tourists. In the open-air area, there is a historic obelisk and the meeting point of the three countries and the Iguaçu and Paraná rivers. The Latin sunset completes the visit.

The senses are further heightened by the gastronomic experience. Cabeza de Vaca Restaurant has an exclusive menu with dishes from Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, with spices, flavors and border-specific characteristics unmatched in other destinations.

Landmark of the Three Borders

The restaurant's wine and drinks menu is a great choice for the season, with wines recommended for autumn, which go well with milder weather and meat dishes. The seasonal drinks are warming and feature combinations of fruits, spices and soft citrus notes.

The tip is to pair the dishes, as the season demands, with a varied wine list, with grapes such as chardonnay, merlot, pinot noir and syrah, which range from soft to full-bodied, including medium-bodied. Or with a seasonal fruit drink to pair with a shot of a hotter beverage.

“The milder temperatures, typical of autumn, make the visit even more special and peaceful,” explains the attraction’s manager, Cassiano Preve. “This more cozy climate, with the long weekend, invites residents and tourists to new experiences in the most charming place in Foz do Iguaçu.”

Empanada, chipa and cheese bread

In addition to the restaurant, also within the attraction, the food court at Marco das Três Fronteiras offers typical Latin American delicacies. And local draft beer to accompany it. The highlights among the delicacies prepared on the border are:

  • Paraguayan chipa;
  • Argentinean empanada; and
  • very Minas Gerais cheese bread from Brazil.

Marco is culture

Watched by more than half a million people from 200 countries, the cultural presentations at Marco das Três Fronteiras begin at 18:30 p.m. The cast of artists performs artistic shows in homage to local culture, including typical dances from Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.
