Foz do Iguaçu is among the Brazilian cities with the most searches by foreign travelers for accommodation for the July holidays this year. The data comes from the travel and accommodation portal Booking.
The growth, according to the platform, is 248% compared to the same period in 2024. The data refers to searches made between February 24 and March 3 of this year for accommodation between July 1 and 31.
State Secretary of Tourism, Leonaldo Paranhos says that, in the first quarter of 2025, Paraná received 426 thousand foreign tourists, which represents an increase of 18,3% compared to last year.
In addition to Foz do Iguaçu, other Brazilian destinations with increased searches include: Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Búzios (RJ), Florianópolis (SC) and Porto de Galinhas (PE).
Number of tourists on the rise
Data from the Brazilian Agency for International Tourism Promotion (Embratur) indicate growth in the number of foreign tourists coming to Paraná in recent years, especially during the July holidays.
Last year, more than 66 international tourists visited the state. In 2024, this flow already represented a growth of 17,3% compared to July 2023, which registered around 52 people.
The most frequent visitors in the last two years came from Paraguay, Argentina and the United States. Most of them arrived by land, highlighting the importance of Foz do Iguaçu in attracting tourists from neighboring countries.
According to Booking, the trending destinations reinforce Brazil's potential to attract travelers of different profiles, interested in coastal attractions, urban itineraries and ecotourism.
