Holy Week and Easter are among the few holidays celebrated simultaneously in Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. Because of this, large crowds are expected at the attractions of Foz do Iguaçu, Ciudad del Este and Puerto Iguazú.

In Foz, historically, Holy Saturday is usually the busiest day of the year in places like the Itaipu power plant. In Iguaçu National Park, the main tourist hotspot on the border, the date is also eagerly awaited.
