Foz do Iguaçu tourism sees the biggest movement in history during the long weekend
Attractions such as Iguaçu National Park, for example, reported the highest ever movement for a long weekend. According to the concessionaire Urbia Cataratas, the Brazilian side of the Iguaçu Falls received almost 50 thousand visitors in the period.
The Municipal Tourism Department released, on Thursday (24), the final figures for hotel occupancy in Foz do Iguaçu during the holiday.
According to the data, reported by 118 of the 124 registered establishments, occupancy closed at 93% in the period between April 18 and 21, 2025. The percentage exceeds, by 1%, the initially projected occupancy, which already indicated 92% of beds occupied.
“The final result of 93% confirms and even exceeds this projection. This shows not only the reliability of our survey, but also how Foz do Iguaçu continues to consolidate itself as the preferred destination for tourists on long weekends,” says Secretary Jin Petrycoski.
In comparison with 2022 and 2023, when Holy Week and Tiradentes were also on close dates, there was growth. In 2022, occupancy closed at 82%, while in 2023 the numbers indicated 77%.
The research is being developed by Division of Statistics and Tourism Studies (Dveet) from the Foz do Iguaçu Tourism Department.
As for the movement in tourist attractions, the H2FOZ compiled the numbers released by Iguaçu National Park, Parque das Aves, Marco das Três Fronteiras and Turismo Itaipu. To check the publication with the balance, click here.
