The month of May 2025 has a special flavor for the traditional Union of Hotels, Bars and Restaurants of Foz do Iguaçu (Sindhotéis).

Founded on May 19, 1975, the entity is completing five decades defending the interests of the hotel and gastronomy industry in the Land of the Falls.

According to the union, the official celebration of the 50th anniversary is scheduled for Friday (16), with a dinner for members and guests. According to the schedule, the event will take place at the institution's headquarters, located on Rua Cecília Meireles, Monjolo neighborhood, in Foz do Iguaçu.

A businessman in the hotel industry, the current president of Sindhotéis, Camilo Rorato, highlights the role of unity represented by the union over time.

“The consensus and unity of a class are fundamental to strengthening our voice and ensuring that we fight for a better future,” he says.

Currently, the hotel and gastronomy industries are among the sectors that generate the most jobs in Foz do Iguaçu. In addition, the activity contributes to the revenue of other sectors, such as tourism, transportation, event organization and commerce as a whole.

Sindhotéis de Foz do Iguaçu also manages the Institute of Hospitality, Gastronomy and Tourism. The institute's mission is to promote professional training and technical improvement for professionals working in the sector.
