Last week, during the International Cataratas Tourism Festival (FITCataratas), Itaipu Parquetec launched the Interinstitutional Master's Degree in Tourism. The course will be offered in partnership with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN).

According to Parquetec, 15 vacancies will be available. Six of them, however, will be reserved for employees of the technology park and Itaipu Binacional.
Another five regular vacancies will have free competition between candidates residing in Paraná and 35 municipalities in Mato Grosso do Sul. The area corresponds to the territory covered by the Itaipu Mais que Energia program, launched in 2023.
Of the four remaining vacancies, two will be reserved for black, mixed-race, indigenous or quilombola people; and two for people with disabilities. In both categories, there will be one vacancy for general competition and another for Itaipu and Parquetec employees.
The registration period will be open until July 30, 2025, in the Integrated Academic Activities Management System (SIGAA) of UFRN. To access the link direct, click here.
The selection process will take place throughout the month of August, in four stages. According to Itaipu Parquetec, the stages include proposal analysis, defense and argumentation, interview and curriculum analysis.
The results are expected to be announced on September 4, 2025, while classes are expected to start in the last week of September.
Biweekly face-to-face meetings
According to Itaipu Parquetec, the course will have biweekly face-to-face meetings in Foz do Iguaçu, on Fridays and Saturdays, with the content divided into modules.
The master's degree focuses on the area of tourism, development and management. Research lines include tourism and regional development, public policies and sustainability, as well as destination management and marketing tourist, among others.
