
Next Monday (31), right after Jornal Nacional, it will air on TV Globo the opening chapter of the novel Vale Tudo. The production, which has scenes in Foz do Iguaçu, is a remake from the original 1988 soap opera, which broke audience records.

The debut chapter is set in the Land of the Falls, with the backdrop places like Iguaçu National Park. A wooden house in Vila A, in turn, will represent the home of the character Raquel and her daughter Maria de Fátima.

Played by Taís Araújo, Raquel works as a tour guide and seems satisfied with life in Foz do Iguaçu. Maria de Fátima considers the city to be “the end of the world” and wants to live a life of luxury in big cities like Rio de Janeiro.
After the first two chapters, the action of the soap opera will be concentrated, basically, in Rio de Janeiro. The great exposure of Foz do Iguaçu at the beginning of the plot, however, has the potential to increase the interest of the national public in the city's attractions.
It is no coincidence that Visit Iguassu will be promoting a media campaign until April to take advantage of the attention given to the destination and attract new travelers.
“We could not fail to join our efforts to strategically create an expanded campaign,” says Elaine Tenerello, executive director of Visit Iguassu.
Historical production in Foz do Iguaçu
To this day, the scenes of Raquel and Maria de Fátima in Foz do Iguaçu, in the 1988 production, are part of the memories of Brazilian viewers. Vale Tudo The original also had audience success in other countries, expanding the reach of the dissemination.
