The movement is led by the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS), CCR Group (of which the concessionaire CCR Aeroportos is a part) and by the National Observatory of Sustainable Mobility, from Insper.
The central idea, according to the organizers, is to expand the dialogue and prepare a diagnosis of the transport sector, to develop a joint proposal to be presented at COP30, an international environmental conference scheduled for 2025, in Belém (PA).
The coalition will work to ensure that Brazil advances in reducing greenhouse gas emissions across six axes: infrastructure and intersections; urban mobility; road transport; rail transport; air transport; and waterway transport and cabotage.
The contributions will be delivered to the federal government to assist in the preparation of the Climate Plan, to be presented next year by the Ministry of the Environment.
Foz do Iguaçu International Airport is managed by the concessionaire CCR Aeroportos, together with other terminals in Brazil and abroad. Air transport is responsible for large volumes of greenhouse gas emissions.
