According to the company, the estimate covers the period between February 28 (Good Friday) and March 5 (Ash Wednesday). Regarding boarding and disembarking operations, there will be at least 217 flights.

Wander Melo Jr., manager of the Foz do Iguaçu terminal, indicated that the concessionaire has set up a special operation for the first long weekend of 2025.

“We are prepared for an increase in airport activity and committed to developing excellent work,” said Wander, quoted by the press office.

According to CCR, the movement follows last year's average and will mark the end of the summer season, considered positive. From December 2024 to the end of January 2025, 407 thousand passengers used Foz do Iguaçu International Airport.

Regarding the profile, Brazilians represent the majority of passengers for the Carnival holiday. The city has direct flights to important issuing hubs, such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba. In addition, seasonal routes complement the offer.

Foz do Iguaçu is not a typical carnival destination, as it does not offer large parties with national or international appeal. The destination usually receives tourists looking to escape the festivities or just take advantage of the days off to travel.

Renovations in Foz do Iguaçu

The concessionaire CCR Aeroportos recently delivered a new batch of renovations at Foz do Iguaçu International Airport.

The package included the expansion of the structure by five thousand square meters, a new area of check-in and departure lounges, as well as three new yards.

According to the company, the interventions carried out since the beginning of the concession have significantly increased the airport's capacity. Currently, the Foz do Iguaçu terminal is prepared to receive up to four million passengers per year.
