According to the city government, Foz do Iguaçu's participation focused on attracting new flights to the Land of the Falls, increasing the flow of international tourists.
The congress was attended by representatives from more than 400 organizations, including tourist destinations, airlines, airports and sectors linked to aviation.
Jin Petrycoski, Secretary of Tourism, and Graziella Delicato, Executive Manager of Air Business at CCR Aeroportos, were part of the delegation. For the concessionaire that manages Foz do Iguaçu International Airport, the event has status of the most important of the year.
“It is the moment when airports and airlines debate new routes and defend their destinations”, explained the executive manager.
“Together with the Tourism Department, we presented the investments in the city, the growth figures for attracting international tourists and showed that Foz do Iguaçu is the world’s destination,” said Delicato, quoted by the Municipal News Agency.
In 2023, 1.908.969 travelers passed through Foz do Iguaçu International Airport. Last year, the number reached two million. Currently, after the latest renovations, the terminal has a capacity for four million passengers per year.
Flights to Foz do Iguaçu
Reformulating the air network, which has been altered by the COVID-19 pandemic, is among the priorities of the Municipal Department of Tourism in Foz do Iguaçu. According to Secretary Jin Petrycoski, the destination has the potential to absorb new routes.
“The city is developing its infrastructure, attracting investment and strengthening its relationship with tourists, with more and more experiences for visitors,” he assessed.
“We want to show that Foz do Iguaçu is also promising in terms of air travel, since an increase in flights to the city also means a greater flow of tourists to the destination,” added Petrycoski, who took office in January.
