The EPR Iguaçu concessionaire announced two types of toll fee discounts on BR-277, in the Foz do Iguaçu region, and the other toll plazas it manages. In addition, it confirmed that motorcycles will be exempt from payment.
The company, whichtook over management of Lot 6 a month ago of Integrated Highways of Paraná, states that the progressive reduction could reach 98% of the value. There are two tariff benefits:
- basic tariff discount (DBT); and
- frequent user discount (DUF).
To obtain these benefits, an electronic tag must be installed on the vehicle. This device allows the vehicle to pass through automatic toll collection lanes, according to the EPR.
The deadline for the start of toll collection, nor the amounts, have not yet been set.
Toll on BR-277
All vehicles with a tag, regardless of category or number of trips, automatically receive 5% DBT. The DUF is a cumulative and progressive benefit.
The discount for frequent users includes light vehicles, benefiting drivers who frequently use the same toll plaza. These routes must be in the same direction, within the same month, using the tag as the payment method.
“It is important to highlight that it is a mature, fair concession, which brings these possibilities and benefits and is expected to involve many investments”, says the executive director of EPR Iguaçu, Silvio Caldas.
EPR Iguaçu will provide users with a calculator, which will be available at www.epriguacu.com.br. It will be possible to enter the toll plaza used and the number of trips planned for the month, automatically calculating the cost of the last trip and the monthly average.
How the discount works for users:
- first trip of the month: vehicle with tag automatically receives DBT (basic tariff discount) of 5%;
- from the second trip: after the second time passing through the same plaza and in the same direction, the DUF comes into action and begins to apply progressive discounts;
- until the 30th trip: toll value is gradually reduced according to the discount applied at each toll plaza;
- from the 30th trip: driver reaches the minimum fare, which remains frozen for subsequent trips made in the same month.
At the beginning of each month, the discounts are reset, and the fare value returns to its original level. The DUF is valid for cars, pickup trucks and vans — including those with trailers or semi-trailers.

The tag, an adhesive chip installed on the car's front window to make payments automatically, can be purchased from specialized operators, banks and insurance companies, such as:
