The limitations on transfers and payments made by individuals via Pix between 4 pm and 20 am will come into effect this Monday, the 6th, and will now be limited to a maximum of R$1 in total. This is one of the measures aimed at preventing kidnappings and nighttime robberies that use this means of financial transaction.

The decision does not affect the operation of company accounts. According to the Central Bank (BC), the new rules cover Pix transactions, instant payments, Available Electronic Transfer (TED) and Credit Order Document (DOC), bills and purchases with debit cards.

Customers will have the option to change transaction limits through electronic banking service channels, which will be in effect from 24 to 48 hours after the request is made. Users will also be able to request a distinction between transactions via Pix, establishing lower limits at night.

On November 16, the additional security rules introduced by the Central Bank for instant payments will come into effect. The blocking of the receipt of transfers via Pix to individuals will be adopted for up to 72 hours, when there is suspicion that the beneficiary account is being used for fraud.

In this table, the Central Bank presents the general rules and how they will be applied to Pix:
